About Woodfired Pizza

Woodfired pizza shop and wine shop. Take-out only. Seating for dine-in available in the Lorelei Beer Hall around the corner.

Woodfired Pizza is a pizza takeout in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 126 S Highland Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, which places it among the local businesses of Pittsburgh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 5–10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Woodfired Pizza at (412) 214-6926; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, woodfired-pittsburgh.com.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Just had their pizza truck catering and everything was incredible! The apps, the pizza, the cookies were some of the best catering I've ever had. Thank you!

I simply don’t understand why we wait well over an hour every time we order pizza here while at Lorelei. Being experienced in pizza, I know for a fact that with a true wood fire oven, a pizza is only in the oven 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Literally 2 minutes max. I see this commonly at places like Mercurios. I can’t for the love of me figure out why pizza here takes an hour. It doesn’t matter how many orders you have. I’ve had wood fired pizza all over the world and they can handle many orders just fine and still get you a pizza in well under 10 minutes. For this pizza to take an hour+ is absolutely unacceptable and I’ll never order here again. It’s not about me being inpatient. It’s about the fact that this place has been like this since it opened. I understand being new and getting your footing. But wood fired pizza should not take an hour and 20 minutes to get to the table. That’s just ridiculous.

Always been a fan of Lorelei, but stepped into the woodfire side for the first time last night. Was super impressed with the wine store and with the to-go service! Their sommelier is fantastic! Great selection! My pizza and salad were incredible as usual. Thank you!

Ordered from Woodfired while at Lorelei. They gave us the wrong pizza initially (the regular Pepperoni instead of the Peppy Pep which includes additional toppings) and the pizza we got was very burnt. When I told the bartender at Lorelei that we got the wrong pizza, they very kindly put our order in again and took the pizza back. But when I got the right order, it turned out to be the same pizza, lukewarm, with the additional toppings. And still burnt. Listen, I get that super cooked crust is a legitimate pizza style, and the undercarriage was actually pretty decent. But the outer crust was so burnt that it was inedible. We also got the Kale Caesar, which was not bad.

DELICIOUS pizza (try the Peppy Pep!) and an awesome selection of wines. They only sell bottles that you can’t find at the state stores and stock lots of natural wine. The shop manager (who is also a sommelier) is SO nice and super knowledgeable. I always leave the shop with something new to try that I end up loving. Also highly recommend trying their wine classes when they offer them. You learn a lot and you get to try 3-4 wines in each class (reducing the risk of buying a bottle and then not liking it when you open it at home). They’re a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
